Hush

Cast resin, hair

“Hush” are cast resin arms, acting as traces of a chair, a memory of a loved-one that once sat there. This piece references the anatomy of furniture as it strongly implies the human body (e.g. arms/legs/back of a chair or table). The relationship of furniture and objects to humans is its suggestion of human interaction. I apply this to individuals, which is used to explore absence as mourning. Perhaps you expect to see that familiar face sitting in that chair, only to realize that their time has passed.
